  1. My favorite images are the butterfly and the motion of the train. These are my favorite because you can really see the detail of the butterfly. The colors really emphasize it and this picture makes me feel relaxed and peaceful. As for the train. I like how you emphasized the train by keeping it's color and making the background black and white.

  2. Dan,
The photo that was most interesting to me was the one of the butterfly. Besides the bright colors and clear focus, the fact that you got that close to a butterfly without it flying away was really cool. i think this photo looks really professionally taken, and has great, clear quality. I also like how the leaves and flowers in the background are almost all in focus, and in color.

  4. I love the black and white photo of the old company building cause it reminds me of the early 1900's. It would have been nice to see some of the shadows and the chipped paint on the building by shadow/highlight and using the dodge tool.

  5. What was your goal or purpose in taking the photo of the toy truck?

  6. I like the photo of the train. Because the background is black and white and the train is in color it brings more attention to the train. I like how every thing is still except the train. Great work

  7. I like the first picture of the cat. This is because it brings out a mystery to viewers because it makes you wonder what the cat is staring at and what is interesting enough to hold the cat's gaze. I also liked how the lighting helped to add a contrast to the photo. Nice!

  8. All your pictures are SO good. My favorites are all the bug/nature ones, because me myself love taking pictures of nature. I also love the photo of the cat hissing, just because it scares me and reminds me of my cat. It definitely makes someone feel scarred or intimidated by the cat. I also really like the train photo, it's of such good quality, and adding color back to the traind efinitely benefited the photo as a whole. Great job with all your photos.

  9. The purpose of the photo of the truck was mainly to show the effect of age. Besides the Sepia filter, this particular toy (of my brother's) is a few years old, and has had some rough wear, as indicated by the dirt and scratches. The idea I hoped for was "still standing after all this time."

  10. Dan, these are really good photos. I especially like the train in movment and the butterfly. In the butterfly picture i really like how the butterfly is the only thing focused on and then the stems are blurry but the background is the blurriest. It makes you focus more on the butterfly. In the train one it has depth but also movement. Very creative!

  11. My favorite photo is the butterfly because it's really hard to capture a butterfly standing still and you did a really good job with taking it. The butterfly is also the only thing that's really in clear, crisp focus because having that makes the eye get drawn into the butterfly right away(focal point). I also like how the background is not in focus because again, it makes the focal point(butterfly) stand out more.

  12. I really like your pictures of the train tracks and the palmer/paxton street signs. The pictures of the train tracks definetly show a lot of depth. Any one can just take a picture of train tracks but I like the way that you did it because you captured every detail and made it look very creative and more original then just train tracks. I like the picture of the street signs because it shows a feeling of indecisivness and which path people can take. Personally, when I look at that picture i feel as if i have to choose one or the other, which is a hard decision. Good Job!

  13. I absolutley love the picture the picture of the butterfly, and the tree. I love the brightness and saturation of the tree. Even though the tree has lost its leaves, the bright colors make it seem like summer. The butterfly is intresting because of how the focus is so strong on the butterfly. All photos are great, those 2 are my favorites.

  14. My favorite photo would have to be the black and white photo of the cat looking very poised. There is alot of texture shown, from the cat's fur to the wood, and you've managed to make sure the light from the window isn't a hotspot or distraction from the cat. How did you decide to frame the photo this way?
